So, I’m gonna get kinda deep here, because I realized something I felt I had to share. It dawned upon me when I was roaming my closet in frustration. I knew the kind of outfit I wanted for a new post, but I didn’t seem to have all the pieces. And I got so annoyed! So I sat down and was ready to give up on posting entirely. I was convinced that if I couldn’t have this awesome, blog-ready outfit with the perfect accessories or whatever, there was no point in doing a post. But it made me realize what a mistake I was making in thinking like that. I don’t normally dress every day in perfect, detail oriented outfits that I was telling myself I had to have to maintain a blog. Sometimes my outfits are just throwing on the closest sweatshirt and pair of shoes and running out the door without even thinking about hair or makeup. So, I came to realize that I didn’t start blogging to seem like I had this perfectly pulled together style, but that is what I was letting it evolve to. Fashion should be an expression of yourself! I am going to try from now on to be a little more honest about the day to day wear and I encourage everyone else to too! Especially with girls, its hard not to try and wear cute clothes to impress others. Sometimes you get something new and think about how much everyone else will love it, rather than evaluate for yourself first. Its great to wear fancy outfits you feel good in, but do it for yourself, not others and their reactions! This quote really sums up why I think this…
“For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.”
